There is a Prime Show, Peripheral, that has an ending scene that has always stuck with me (spoilers ahead).
The main character, Flynn Fisher, gets (unintentionally) wrapped up in all kinds of inter-timeline trouble and has been generally successful at evading capture. As a result, the antagonist decides the best way to deal with her (and the forbidden knowledge she carries) is to just cut her entire timeline out of existence.
There’s a lot of plot relevant stuff here in terms of what Flynn decides to do to ensure that this antagonist is dealt with in other timelines. But to protect her own timeline, she coordinates with an ex-military friend to neutralize herself as a threat in order to save her timeline. The way she decides to do this? By having her friend shoot her with a sniper from a far enough distance and kill her.
